Your Pet’s Holiday Wish List

Nobody knows your pet better than you do, so to tell you a few generic ideas about what they’d like would be a little presumptuous on our part.So, instead of telling you what you should do, we thought we’d tell you a few things that we, the PetLuxe crew, are getting our own fury friends. Of course we’re also including a few suggestions as well- a few of which might even be more interesting to you than your pet (but go to a good cause!) Hopefully these spark some ideas for your own holiday gift giving!A specialty treat that she doesn’t usually get. I also make white-chocolate (which doesn’t have any coca) dipped dog bones for my dog and her friends at the dog park. [Lora]I’m getting my dog a Water Bottle Buddies Cow. It’s a plush toy with a replaceable water bottle that makes a crackling and crunching sound. I’m also getting them the Red Barn Peanut Butter Filled Bone that’s supposed to also clean teeth but still have the peanut butter taste they love. [Wendy]

My dog is obsessed with this purple ball he’s had since he was a puppy. In fact, he’s obsessed with all balls that are purple colored. But, because his purple ball is deteriorating rapidly, I’ve bought him a few more of those, and some homemade treats he’s sure to love too. [Allison]

One of my cats is getting a scratching post for the door and the other is getting her favorite fuzzy ball toys. My boyfriend’s dog is getting a rope chew and some natural duck treats. [Niki]

My sister LOVES giving her cats loose cat nip (not in a toy or anything).  She can spread it on scratching post or cat trees and it really helps the cats play or use these toys more than expected. [Wendy]

My Frogs are getting freeze-dried shrimp. They didn’t like the freeze-dried blood worms, but we’d like to start introducing a new food into their diets. Also, we’re thinking about adding a snail to their environment.[Allison]

Calendars. Yeah, you heard us right. While your pet might not care what day it is (except for maybe the fact that there are never enough lazy weekends to go around), there are two calendars that have really caught our attention. In fact, there’s one for both dog and cat lovers.

Fotogenic Felines-  Produced by former Shelter of the Month the Ohio Alleycat Resource, this calendar ($15) features professionally (and staff) taken photography of some of the shelter’s liveliest personalities. Canine Calendar for a Cause- This professionally produced desk calendar  features more than 100 dogs with a mission – “to cure Multiple Sclerosis as quickly as possible by determining its causes.” Proceeds from the sales of each calendar are donated to the Cincinnati chapter of the Accelerated Cure Project for MS (ACP).
